Patricia Neja offers classes at local studios in the Portland, Maine area. In winter 2012 she’ll be teaching classes at the South Portland Community Center, Wholeheart Yoga, and the Cumberland County YMCA. Additionally, Patricia offers individually-designed private instruction and private group classes.

Teaching Philosophy

Patricia teaches Hatha Yoga focusing on asana (poses) and pranayama (breathing) to restore and renew the whole being, with the objective of bringing inner stillness and peace to the mind. Classes consider the uniqueness of the individual as students learn alignment basics of the body along with breathing techniques ultimately leading to integration of movement and breath. As students progress, contemplative holding of poses is encouraged, while at the same time maintaining the breath and keeping the mind present. Yoga unites body, mind, emotion and soul to prepare students for pratyahara (turning inward) and dhyana (meditation). Students are exposed to the history and philosophy of yoga and encouraged to follow their own heart, connecting with spirit as they desire.
